Dan's Biography :
Dan was born and reared in Saint Paul, Minnesota. His American heritage is traced back centuries to the earliest settlers of Wisconsin, the Dakotas, and Minnesota, along his maternal English genealogical line. He has enjoyed and studied his ancestor’s history founding Chengwetana (Pine City). This heritage grounded Dan in the history of the area in which we live. His paternal line is traced back to Ellis Island 1914 Italian immigrants. Dan has hundreds of cousins living in Minnesota.
Dan’s education was most impacted by the Lutheran school he attended through the eighth grade. The education provided included much verbatim memorization. It served to prepare him well for the mastery of concepts and material needed to complete a college education. Dan did coursework at Bemidji State College, Lakeville Jr. College, and graduated with a degree in Sociology from Saint Thomas College. During his college years, he worked in carpentry for his family’s construction company. He also worked in restaurants his family owned.
Dan now was living in Lake Elmo, Minnesota with his wife and two sons. His family was very busy traveling the state for his son’s hockey games. He was searching for a work path in life and finally enrolled in Metropolitan State University and completed the accounting, tax, and auditing courses. These courses were mandatory as minimum qualifications for the CPA exam. Dan sat for the exam but did not pass because as he says he did not allow enough study time to set himself up for success. Nevertheless, Dan worked as an accountant and financial statement auditor until he retired.
Dan liked to keep busy mentally and physically so he purchased acreage in Askov, MN. He built a small country house for himself and his wife. He had long been involved with Real Estate and construction so it was natural to become a Real Estate Agent. The small community Dan lives in is a very warm and vibrant one. He hopes to help people find their place in East Central Minnesota. He loves the people he works with at the family run United Country Banning Junction.
